Our ECT Programme: Early Career Teachers
At TTLT we consider early career development incredibly important. Our MAT works alongside our local Teaching School Hub – London District East - to provide our Early Career Teachers (ECTs) access to the Ambition Institute ECF programme.

At TTLT we are proud to provide additional support to all our ECTs and their mentors through our dedicated Early Careers Team; these colleagues are also Fellows of the Ambition Institute and deliver mentor and induction training across East London. We believe it is essential to support our ECTs in the early stages of their career and each school receives one day a week of support working with ECTs in their own classrooms developing their teaching and learning practice.
We are aware that the new Early Careers Framework (ECF) is area is a huge national change in the educational landscape and our Training Hub can help advise and support you to ensure you are well positioned to effectively provide this programme for your ECTs. Please also check out our new 'Further Development of Teaching and Learning' (FDTL) programme which is aimed at those in the second or third year of teaching; its purpose is to strengthen the ECF foundations and continue to develop the skills of excellent teachers whilst they are still at the start of their careers.
In preparation for the start of their ECT journey, we have produced a mini-series to help all potential ECTs prepare for their new positions within our MAT. Our Training Hub Director and ECF Leads have put together some videos in which they explore areas ECTs can work on, ahead of the start the new academic year, to help them feeling confident and ready for the exciting challenges ahead. Please note these were filmed when ECTs were NQTs but they are all still very relevant!
