SEND
Across the Tapscott Learning Trust we support a wide range of children with special educational needs (SEND). With around 150 children with a high level of need, the Trust has alternative provision in all its schools. Both North Beckton and Ranelagh have resource provisions for Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) respectively.
The Trust leads in SEND practice and initiatives. Our CEO, Paul Harris, takes a lead in SEND and has worked in partnership with the local authority and national government, having sat on the Rochford Review.
Our award winning Special Educational Needs Officer, Helen Harris, runs the SENCo network within the Trust, where she manages our team of centralised specialists and coordinates the SEND professional development training courses offered through our Training Hub. Helen was awarded a Pearson Silver Award in 2020 for Excellence in Special Educational Needs, and is a leader in her field, widely known and respected within Newham and its surrounding areas.
Should you wish to find out further information about the SEND offering at your child’s current or prospective school within our Trust, please visit the school’s website where you can find further details about their provision for children with SEND. The school’s SENCo will have their contact details available on the website, and will be able to answer any specific questions you may have.
To find out more about our training courses, where you can develop your professional skills in SEND, please visit the Training Hub section of our website, or email Helen at helen.harris@kensington.ttlt.academy.
